Amanda Myers dreamed of a brighter future for her son and took the necessary steps to bring that vision to life. Confronted with a lack of safe and accessible play options for her son Charlie, who has autism, she sought to create an inclusive environment for all children. This initiative led to the creation of an exceptional team including Dawn Schultheis, Community Development Program Coordinator, Gloria Llewellyn, Superintendent/CEO of the Noble County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Sheila Baker and Marilyn Phalin of the Belle Valley Action Committee and us here at DWA Recreation and GameTime. We were brought on board as the premier provider of accessible playground equipment, along with our GameTime Community Champions Playground Grant, we were able to supply them with the equipment and opportunity to turn their teams vision into a reality.
After months of planning, designing and determination, the official opening and ribbon cutting of the brand new Legendary Adventure Zone accessible playground in Belle Valley, Ohio took place on July 8, 2025. “What you see here today is a dream brought to life through the power of com- passion, determination, and community,” - Gloria Llewellyn, Superintendent/CEO of the Noble County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
