When the City of Maumee set out to modernize Robert Hoag Ford Field, the goal was to create more than a new playground—it was an opportunity to enhance one of the community's most beloved recreation destinations for families of all abilities.
DWA Recreation partnered with the City to bring this vision to life through the installation of a nature-inspired GameTime playground featuring the Nature Play Treehouse. Designed to encourage imaginative play, climbing, exploration, and physical activity, the playground includes enclosed spiral tube slides, climbing elements, crawl-through features, and a durable poured-in-place rubber safety surface that provides improved accessibility for children of varying abilities.
The playground was part of a larger park improvement initiative that also included new pedestrian walkways, drainage improvements, basketball courts, seating, and other amenities, creating a welcoming destination for residents and visitors alike.
Today, Robert Hoag Ford Field provides families with a vibrant, inclusive play environment that complements the park's athletic facilities while encouraging outdoor recreation, social interaction, and healthy lifestyles for generations to come.
