The DREAM Playground at Oak Grove Park is a transformational inclusive play destination designed to bring children and adults of all abilities together to play, explore, connect and belong.
Spanning approximately 24,000 square feet, this fully fenced playground is Summit County’s first fully inclusive playground. The $2.66 million project was made possible through an extraordinary community effort, including more than $550,000 in private donations led by the Hudson Inclusive Playground (HIP) Committee and Hudson Community Foundation, along with support from the City of Hudson, Hudson Park Board, State of Ohio, Summit County Developmental Disabilities Board, community organizations, volunteers and countless local supporters.
DWA Recreation was proud to be part of bringing this community vision to life.
The playground was thoughtfully designed to provide meaningful play opportunities for users with a wide range of abilities and needs. Features include ramp-accessible, multi-level play structures, adaptive swings, a wheelchair-accessible merry-go-round, an accessible zip line, sensory play elements, quiet spaces and extensive accessible pathways.
Comfort and accessibility extend beyond the play equipment. The playground includes safety surfacing, shade structures and fully accessible restrooms equipped with both child- and adult-sized changing tables.
What began as a vision in 2022 became a place where families can play side by side without barriers. More than a playground, DREAM Playground demonstrates what can happen when a community comes together around a shared vision for inclusion.
Now open daily from dawn to dusk, DREAM Playground is creating opportunities for play, connection and memories that will last for generations.
