Today, the entire DWA Recreation team is celebrating the retirement of Kathy Kolanko.
Since joining DWA Recreation in 2006, Kathy has been a steady force behind so much of our growth and the relationships we’re proud to have built across Ohio. With a background in education and a deep belief in the power of play, she brought heart, insight, and purpose into every project she touched.
Kathy is known not just for her expertise in the recreation industry, but for the way she shows up for people. Whether working with municipalities, schools, partners, or colleagues, she led with kindness, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to helping communities create spaces where children and families can thrive.
Just as important, Kathy helped shape who we are internally. Through mentorship, encouragement, and example, she strengthened our culture and made those around her better at what they do.
We are incredibly grateful for the years she dedicated to DWA Recreation, and for the lasting impact she leaves behind in both our company and the communities we serve.
